Trash and recycling

New trash and recycling company

Republic Services Trash TruckThe City of Santa Ana has a new trash and recycling company, Republic Services, effective July 1, 2022. The new contract includes new services that maximize recycling by residents and businesses, helping the City meet goals established in recent State recycling laws.

A key component of the contract is the “Santa Ana Clean City Initiatives” services that maintain clean public spaces citywide. Among the programs, Republic Services provides abandoned item collection and litter cleanup, 250 public trash containers serviced citywide, sidewalk cleaning and power washing, and cleaning services for illegal dumping hotspot areas.

Additional contract enhancements include new trucks, carts, and bins; organics (yard and food waste) recycling; annual household hazardous waste drop-off, compost giveaway, and shredding events; increased bulky item pickups; neighborhood association container collection; and community donations.
