Emerging Lifeguard Leaders (E.L.L)
ELL will return next year for spring 2026!
Participants of all skills levels are invited to take part in this free lifeguard readiness program designed to train and prepare candidates for a Lifeguard certification course. To sign-up click the link below or register the day of the program at Jerome Pool. Gain the skills and confidence to take the next step in becoming a City of Santa Ana lifeguard.
Program Skills Taught
- Basic water safety (treading, front crawl, floating on front & back.)
- Intro to rescue skills
- Swim stroke refinement (front crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, back stroke.)
- 10-pound brick tow
- Diving in deep end
- American Red Cross Lifeguard 24. course prerequisites
