We are excited to share our vision for the future as we embark on a journey to enhance and transform our library spaces to better serve our community. Over the next two years, the Santa Ana Public Library (SAPL) will be reimagined with the restoration and renovation of our beloved Main Library, the opening of the New Delhi Library Branch, the renovation of the Newhope Library, and the creation of a unique Outdoor Library at Jerome Park. Main Library
The Main Library will undergo a comprehensive restoration project commencing in Summer 2024 to enrich library facilities and services for our community. Anticipated highlights include:
- New children's interactive learning area
- Improved and reimagined Teen and Maker Space on the 2nd Floor
- Reimagined east patio with amphitheater seating and reading areas
- Enhanced and expanded History Room on the 2nd Floor
- Restoration of the Italian marble façade
- Upgraded building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Newhope Library
Beginning in Winter 2024 and anticipated to be completed by Summer 2025, Newhope Library's renovation will include:
- New glass storefront style entrance and lobby
- New colorful and inviting building façade
- New Innovation Center to provide STEM learning opportunities
- Fully renovated outdoor patio with seating and shade structure
- Extended hours for uninterrupted access to library services
Delhi Library
The new Delhi Library Branch will be located inside the Delhi Center. We anticipate welcoming you to our exciting new space in Winter 2024. This branch will include:
- Innovative glass storefront-style entrance, modern furniture, interior finishes and fixtures
- Special "Knowledge Bar" area to assist patrons with technology and information needs
- New outdoor patio with play features and extra space for library programs, events, and activities
Outdoor Library at Jerome Park
The New Outdoor Library at Jerome Park includes the features and services of a traditional public library facility, but outside in the park. Stay tuned for updates as we near the anticipated completion in Spring 2025! This new innovative public library design will include:
- Fully enclosed self service “Mini Library” kiosk, containing nearly 400 items from books to movies
- Outdoor seating and access to public Wi-Fi
- New program and activity areas for storytime, activities for seniors, etc.
- New drought tolerant landscaping
