Meet the Neighborhood Initiatives and Environmental Services Team

Margarita Macedonio, Principal Community Planner

Margarita Macedonio is a Principal Community Planner for the City of Santa Ana Neighborhood Initiatives and Environmental Services Program.  Margarita has been a part of Team Santa Ana for over 15 years. Prior to that, she administered affordable housing, strategic planning, and Community Development Block Grant-funded programs at the Los Angeles Community Development Authority and supported public housing resident initiatives at the Housing Authority City of Los Angeles.  As a seasoned advocacy planner, Margarita is a solution-oriented leader focused on a meaningful process to deliver impactful and equitable outcomes for the Santa Ana community. Margarita and her team work with a network of interagency and community stakeholders to address issues of environmental health equity and quality of life and provide capacity-building, collaboration, grant resources, and special event support for Santa Ana neighborhoods to thrive.

Frank Bejarano,  Associate Community Planner

Frank Bejarano is an Associate Planner for the City of Santa Ana Neighborhood Initiatives and Environmental Services Program. His educational background includes a B.A. Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Frank is an effective leader with an extensive background in Asset Based Community Development, Equity Planning, and Community Engagement.  He recently transitioned as the Director of Family and Community Engagement at KidWorks, after serving Santa Ana neighborhoods for 8.5 years. Frank brings his leadership skills of working within cross-cultural environments, strategic planning, community development and for the purpose of increasing organizational impact and community resiliency.

Alyssa Ventura,  Assistant Community Planner

Alyssa Ventura is a Assistant Community Planner for the Neighborhood Initiatives and Environmental Services Program. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Geography and Women’s Studies from the California State University of Fullerton. She brings technical skills in community engagement, community planning, data analysis, and GIS.  Alyssa is passionate about Environmental Justice and Social Equity in communities and has been instrumental in supporting neighborhoods with statistical data, grant coordination, and capacity-building to help them move forward on strategies for problem-solving and improvements to their quality of life.  Alyssa previously worked at Garden Grove Unified School District as an AVID Tutor and Instructional Aide.
