Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency to offer three summer camps

2024 Summer Splash Day Camp

With summer around the corner and the City of Santa Ana’s Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRSCA) is gearing up to provide daily youth and teen summer programming. All camps run June 3 through August 9 and open for registration on Saturday, April 20. Guarantee your sport and register early for a summer camp that will help keep Santa Ana youth active and engaged.

Summer Splash Day Camp will be offered at three different locations including: El Salvador Community Center, Jerome Recreation Center, and Salgado Recreation Center. Campers ages 6-12 will be able to enjoy ten weeks of fun and creative summer programming. Summer Splash Day Camp will be offered June 3 – August 9, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Summer Splash Day Camp provides a premium camp experience with weekly off-site excursions, swimming lessons and recreational swim, themed arts and crafts, special entertainment, and more! Summer Splash Day Camp is focused on fostering personal growth for youth by providing safe, enjoyable, and engaging outdoor activities.

Parents and guardians can enroll their campers weekly to attend any Registration includes all activities, Santa Ana Unified School District lunches, excursions, and one Summer Splash Day Camp shirt. Fees are as follows:

  • Resident: $115/week, with a rate of $73 per additional family participant
  • Non-residents: $135/week, with a rate of $93 per additional family participant

Residents who enroll for camps prior to July 1 will receive a Santa Ana resident discount.

Garfield Teen Summer Camp is PRCSA’s newest summer camp specifically geared towards teens ages 13-17. Camp will be held at Garfield Community Center Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Free extended program drop-in hours will be also be offered from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m for all teens, no registration is necessary. This summer camp will specifically incorporate age appropriate programming to enhance individual growth while creating an encouraging environment for socialization during the non-school season.

Participants will experience ten weeks of fun and creative summer programming. Daily activities are as follows:

  • Mondays: eSports & technology
  • Tuesdays: Workshops & youth committees
  • Wednesday: Professional presentations & Group dinner
  • Thursday: Mini excursions to unique Orange County locations
  • Friday: Themed activity

Participants will have the opportunity to attend Downtown Santa Ana’s Art Walk and view many of the art exhibits on the first Saturday of the month, attend Parks, Recreation and Community Service Commission meetings to view and obtain a deeper insight into the workings of local government on the fourth Thursday of the month (transportation will be provided).

Weekly fees include all activities, snacks, and excursions and are as follows:

  • Resident: $25/week, with a rate of $20 per additional family participant
  • Non-residents: $35/week, with a rate of $30 per additional family participant

Santa Ana Unified School District will also be providing free lunch at Garfield Elementary from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Spots are limited in the Garfield Teen Summer Camp. Make sure to register early!

The Summer Fun Program at Roosevelt-Walker is designed for children ages 6-12. Participants will enjoy a full ten-week program offering a wide variety of activities such as sports, arts and crafts, group games, science fun, and more! Programming includes visits from agency partners, such as the Santa Ana Zoo every other Thursday and frequent visits from the Santa Ana Library Knowledge Mobile. The Summer Fun Program offers children an opportunity to build relationships, learn, grow, create, and discover.

The Summer Fun Program will take place Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on-site at the Roosevelt Walker Community Center. Parents and guardians can enroll participants for FREE. Registration is required and space is limited.
