Sister cities Santa Ana and Sahuayo connected through first business expo

The City of Santa Ana proudly hosted the inaugural Sister Cities Santa Ana & Sahuayo Business Expo from March 28 to 30, 2025, at Hotel Zessa. This landmark event brought together over 30 businesses from Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico, to showcase their products and foster international business collaborations with local companies. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a diverse array of consumer and artisanal products, including leather sandals, purses and belts, mezcal, tequila, candies and desserts.

Mayor Valerie Amezcua emphasized the significance of the event, stating: “This inaugural business expo represents a remarkable opportunity to deepen the strong bond between the cities of Santa Ana and Sahuayo. By connecting businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals from both regions, we are fostering cross-cultural collaboration and new economic opportunities. Together, we will strengthen global business ties to benefit both of our communities for years to come.”

The success of this expo marked a significant step forward in the ongoing partnership between Santa Ana and Sahuayo, which was initially formalized back in 2022.
