Only ‘Safe and Sane’ fireworks are legal July 1-4

Only fireworks labeled “Safe and Sane” are legal in Santa Ana city limits during the following dates and hours:

  • July 1 – 12 (noon) to 10 p.m.
  • July 2 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • July 3 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • July 4 – 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Illegal fireworks pose substantial dangers to people and buildings, and possession and/or use of illegal fireworks is a crime. Violators may be subject to $1,000 fines and up to one year in jail. Community members can anonymously report the use of illegal fireworks to Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 245-8771, via email at reportfireworks@santa-ana.org or with our online form.
