Organizational development and training

The City of Santa Ana is committed to the professional development of its workforce. The City supports employees seeking to advance their professional skills and facilitates internal training opportunities, as well as partnerships with training providers and consortiums.  

Human Resources manages the Citywide performance evaluation process and coordinates various recognition programs including service awards for performing exemplary service to the organization and community.

Human Resources supports departments with employee development, organizational studies, leadership training, and succession planning efforts, including assessing and prioritizing training and learning needs to support capable, high-functioning teams and positive workplace culture.

The City of Santa Ana training and development strategy is a comprehensive, continuous learning process for all City employees who aspire to learn, grow, and strengthen their skills. Human Resources provide programs and initiatives to help our employees navigate their careers at the City. The resources include learning activities and other development tools intended to help our employees make thoughtful and informed decisions about skills and career development.

Human Resources coordinates Citywide mandatory training to emphasize the importance of a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace that is free from harassment and discrimination and one that is safe and based on ethical principles.
