Crisselle Mendiola’s Sunflower Power was inspired by the idea of growth. The idea of growth through flowers and nature is a recurring theme in Mendiola’s work. She continues this theme for the utility box to acknowledge the city’s role in her own personal growth, and with the hope of inspiring passersby to “grow out of their own comfort zones in order to achieve great things.”
