Heat advisory Aug. 21-23: Beat the heat at City cooling centers

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has extended a heat advisory for Orange County Inland Areas, including Santa Ana, until August 23, 2025, at 8 p.m.

The City of Santa Ana’s Delhi Branch library, community centers and senior centers are available as cooling centers for all residents at the following times and locations:

Library

  • Delhi Branch Library, 505 E. Central Ave.
    • Monday – Thursday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
    • Friday – Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Community centers and senior centers

  • Santa Ana Senior Center, 424 W. 3rd St
    • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Southwest Senior Center, 2201 W. McFadden Ave.
    • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Jerome Community Center, 726 S. Center St.
    • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
    • Saturday: 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Salgado Community Center, 706 N. Newhope St.
    • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
    • Saturday – Sunday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • El Salvador Community Center, 1825 W. Civic Center Drive
    • Monday – Friday:  12-8 p.m.
  • Roosevelt-Walker Community Center, 816 E. Chestnut Ave.
    • Monday – Friday: 2-9 p.m.
  • Garfield Community Center, 501 N. Lacy St.
    • Monday – Friday: 12-7 p.m.

During hot summer days, please remember to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, limit activity outside, and check up on friends and neighbors.
