Autumn Harvest Workshop at the El Salvador Park Community Garden
Come celebrate the Autumn Harvest the El Salvador Park Community Garden!
This time of year marks the traditional harvest season, when fruits and vegetables are gathered from the fields before the arrival of winter. Apples, in particular, are at their peak—making them one of the most commonly harvested fruits during this season. Their popularity is due not only to their ripeness but also to the legacy of Johnny Appleseed, whose efforts helped spread apple orchards across the country. Join us to learn more about his impact and discover why apples became a symbol so closely associated with teachers. Activities for the workshop include:
- Learning about apple nutrition, growing facts, and recipes
- Apple crafts – apple prints
- Pressing apples into juice
