Santa Ana Neighborhoods and CalEPA Disadvantaged Communities with Zip Codes Overlay Map

The Santa Ana Neighborhoods map also includes an overlay of environmental justice – disadvantaged communities designated by CalEPA for the purpose of SB 535. These areas represent the 25% highest scoring census tracts in CalEnviroScreen 4.0 with high amounts of pollution and low populations, and federally recognized tribal areas as identified by the Census in the 2021 American Indian Areas Related National Geodatabase.

CalEnviroScreen is a screening tool used to help identify communities disproportionately burdened by multiple sources of pollution and with population characteristics that make them more sensitive to pollution. CalEnviroScreen 4.0 information, including a detailed description of indicators and methodology is available at the OEHHA Website https://oehha.ca.gov/calenviroscreen/report/calenviroscreen-40.
