COVID-19 Testing

Testing is currently recommended if:

  • You have symptoms of COVID-19, whether or not you are vaccinated.
  • Don't have symptoms but have a known COVID-19 exposure or exposure concerns.
  • Are an essential worker with frequent contacts with the public.
  • Even if fully vaccinatedCOVID-19 testing is recommended:
    • 24 hours before gathering or traveling (domestic or international)
    • 3-5 days after gathering or traveling (domestic or international)

Get Tested Through Your Health Care Provider

Individuals that live in Orange County should first call their health care provider for a COVID-19 test. If you have health insurance and need help finding your healthcare provider, call the customer service number on your insurance card, or view websites of major healthcare providers in Orange County.


At-Home COVID Tests

OC Public Health Care Agency has free at-home test kits for anyone who lives or works in Orange County. Go to the link below or call the County's COVID-19 hotline at 714-834-2000.

Latino Health Access Clinic - Every Tuesday

Latino Health Access offers free testing every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 450 W. 4th St., Santa Ana. They often add additional clinics, so please visit the Latino Health Access Facebook page for the latest information.

Santa Ana Unified School District is offering community testing sites in January 2022. Register for testing before you arrive.

Santa Ana Valley High School

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturdays: 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

SAUSD District Offices
1601 East Chestnut Ave., Santa Ana
Monday-Friday: 4-6 p.m.

OC COVID-19 Testing Network

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and you cannot get a test though your health care provider, you can get a FREE medical assessment and a test through the OC COVID-19 Testing Network. These are all community health centers that offer testing and care, even if you do not have health insurance. If you test positive, your close contacts (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes within a 24 hour period during the infectious period) will be tested or referred to another location for testing.
