Background and Experience

Sergio Dimas is a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Santa Ana.  Mr. Dimas joined the City in January 2026.  Mr. Dimas previously worked with the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office.

Mr. Dimas has handled a variety of cases, including driving under the influence, domestic violence, and quality of life cases.  Mr. Dimas has completed jury trials, suppression hearings and argued various diversion motions.

While in law school, Mr. Dimas interned with Children’s Law Center, the City of Anaheim, and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.  After the bar exam, Mr. Dimas volunteered with Public Law Center.

Mr. Dimas is admitted to practice law in California.

Education

Mr. Dimas obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2018 and his J.D. from UC College of the Law, San Francisco in 2023.  During law school, Mr. Dimas won a regional championship with the Trial Team and obtained the CALI Award in the Criminal Practice Clinic.
