On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the City of Santa Ana broke ground on Gerardo Mouet Park, honoring Santa Ana’s former Parks and Recreation director who died last year. The park at Standard Street and McFadden Avenue will have a skate area, basketball court, playground, green space and more.

The park will provide a much-needed recreational and outdoor space in the Minnie Street area.

Councilmember David Penaloza, Councilmember Jessie Lopez, Councilmember Benjamin Vazquez, County Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento, the Mouet family, and many community members and City staff attended to celebrate this emotional and meaningful day. The park will open in late 2024.
