The Housing Division manages multiple sources of local, state and federal funds to promote and facilitate the development of affordable housing. Projects are in different stages of development and are detailed below and in the interactive map.
Affordable housing projects currently accepting applications
First Point I & II Apartments is a new affordable apartment community at 2114 E. First St. in Santa Ana. First Point I & II Apartments includes 552 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartment homes. Preference is given to applicants who are residents of Santa Ana and/or worked at least 32 hours per week for at least the last 6 months in Santa Ana. First Point I is targeted to be completed with construction and begin occupancy as of 8/31/2022.
Legacy Square (609 N Spurgeon Street)
Legacy Square is a new affordable apartment community at 301 East Santa Ana Boulevard in Santa Ana that is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in early 2023. Legacy Square will offer 93 high-quality apartment homes including 30 one-bedrooms, 39 two-bedrooms, and 24 three-bedrooms. Preference is given to applicants who are residents of Santa Ana and/or worked at least 32 hours per week for at least the last 6 months in Santa Ana. North Harbor Village (1108 N Harbor Boulevard)
Acquisition and rehabilitation of a former motel yielding 89 units of permanent supportive housing. Local residents experiencing chronic homelessness must be referred to the Santa Ana Housing Authority through the Orange County Coordinated Entry System.
Projects in pre-development
Crossroads at Washington (1126 and 1146 E Washington Avenue)
New construction of a 100% affordable multifamily apartment complex consisting of 85 units of rental housing and one manager’s unit. All units will be affordable to households earning less than 30% area median income, of which 43 units will be set aside for permanent supportive housing.
FX Residences (801, 809, 809 ½ East Santa Ana Boulevard)
New construction of an affordable multifamily apartment complex consisting of 16 units of permanent supportive housing, and one (1) manager’s unit.
Westview House (2530 Westminster Avenue)
New construction of an affordable multifamily apartment development consisting of 85 units of both large family and PSH with one manager’s unit. Twenty-six of the units will be funded by PBV and MHSA funds through the NPLH program.
