In a time of personal crisis, it can be difficult to know where to turn for help. By dialing 211, callers can access a host of community services and assistance groups 24 hours a day. Callers will reach a trained multilingual information and referral specialist, who maintains a database with information on government and nonprofit agencies representing specialized services from food, clothing, rental and utility assistance to physical and mental resources, support for seniors, employment and programs for children, youth and families.

Jerome Recreation Center

Jerome Park and Recreation Center first opened to the public in 1968. The 14 acre park is named after Mr. William Jerome, a civic leader and former Councilmember and his father, Mr. W.C. Jerome, a former County Supervisor. Since it first opened, the 15,760 square foot recreation center has been the hub for sports and other leisure activities for the residents of Santa Ana.

The City of Santa Ana's Vacation Recreation Program offers a wide variety of activities for children ages of 5 to 12, Monday through Friday. The program is offered at the city's seven recreation centers and offers a wide variety of theme-based activities.

The Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center

The Santa Ana W/O/R/K (Work, Opportunity, Resources, and Knowledge) Center combines energy and resources from many city agencies and local business assistance organizations such as: Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board, Employment Development Department, Southland Economic Development Corporation, Santa Ana Enterprise Zone, Santa Ana College and Orange County Social Services Agency, to name a few.

The Local Taxpayer, Public Safety and Transportation Protection Act for Use by Public Agencies

The Local Taxpayer, Public Safety and Transportation Act is a constitutional amendment that was filed with the California Attorney General in October 2009 which would prevent the State from borrowing or redirecting funds that are currently dedicated to cities, counties and special districts in California.

Free Days for Santa Ana Residents
Free admission is offered on designated days of the month to various museums and the Zoo. A California Driver's License, California Identification Card, or utility bill with picture ID are required as proof of residency.

The Bowers Museum (2002 N. Main St. 714.567.3600) - free admission on the first Sunday and third Tuesday of every month. www.bowers.org

Heritage Museum (3101 West Harvard 714.540.0404) - free admission on the first Sunday of each month. www.heritagemuseumoc.org

Discovery Science Center (2500 N. Main St. 714.542.2823) - free admission on the first Monday of every month. www.discoverycube.org
