Climate change is occurring as a result of the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere–and humans are the main cause of this. The largest form of greenhouse gas emissions is carbon dioxide, which is the byproduct of burning fossil fuels.  So how does climate change impact our planet?

City Breaks Ground on Children's Patio at Main Library

The City of Santa Ana had a groundbreaking ceremony this week for the Play and Learn Children's Patio at the Main Library. We can't wait for this wonderful new resource to open in January 2022!

It will have a Luckey Climber play structure, new seating, reading and learning areas, lighting, hardscape, drought tolerant landscape, and irrigation. This will transform an underutilized, empty space with small patches of grass and concrete into a fully interactive play and learning space for children and families.

A Statement from the City of Santa Ana on the September 28 Officer-Involved Shooting

The City of Santa Ana offers its deepest condolences to the family of Brandon Lopez, including his cousin, Santa Ana Councilmember Johnathan Ryan Hernandez. Mr. Lopez died on September 28 following an officer-involved shooting involving the Anaheim Police Department in Santa Ana.

Mr. Lopez leaves behind four children, his mother and his father. The City grieves with Councilmember Hernandez and the Lopez family.

Emergency Rental Assistance Program Hits Major Milestone, Disbursing More Than $16 Million in Rental Assistance

SANTA ANA, CA – Santa Ana’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program has reached a significant milestone - more than $16 million in funding for rental assistance has been distributed to 2,791 low-income Santa Ana households who suffered financial hardship because of the pandemic.
