The City of Santa Ana is mourning the loss of former City Councilmember Rob Richardson, who was a fixture in the community as a public servant, local historian and advocate.
The Santa Ana City Council will have its regular meeting via teleconference today, April 21. In an effort to protect public health, prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in compliance with the statewide stay-at-home order, there will be no in-person public meeting location.
The meeting begins at 5:45 p.m., following a 5 p.m. closed session.

To Our Local Businesses,
Take-out and delivery restaurants, grocery stores and other food providers in Santa Ana should take every precaution to prevent the possible transmission of COVID-19 to their customers.
To the People of Santa Ana,
Today the OC Health Care Agency for the first time released the number of COVID-19 cases for each individual city in Orange County. OC Health reported 13 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Santa Ana, out of 321 cases countywide.
The Santa Ana City Council unanimously proclaimed a Local Emergency tonight to fight the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and protect public health.
The Local Emergency immediately went into effect and will:
• Close City Hall and other City buildings to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18. Libraries, community centers, recreational centers, the Santa Ana Police Department headquarters and the Santa Ana Zoo were already closed to the public.
• Suspend street sweeping parking citations retroactively from Sunday, March 15, through the end of the month.
