Information Regarding Petitions Related to Renter Protection Ordinances

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the Santa Ana City Council adopted two new ordinances to help protect renters: a Rent Stabilization Ordinance No. NS-3009, which limits residential rent increases to no more than 3% per year, and a Just Cause Eviction Ordinance No. NS-3010, which limits the allowed reasons for which a renter can be evicted. These ordinances go into effect today, Nov. 19, 2021.

City Council Meeting and Redistricting Hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 5

The Santa Ana City Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 5:45 p.m. Closed session begins at 4 p.m. The agenda includes adoption of a Rent Stabilization Ordinance and Just Cause Eviction Ordinance, the first public hearing regarding redistricting ward boundaries at 7 p.m., and the creation of a police oversight ad hoc committee.
