Through the Special Event Sponsorship Program, Councilmember Solorio has sponsored various events in Santa Ana. Recipients of these funds include the following:
Orange County Pride
The annual Orange County Pride Parade and Festival creates a community for LGBTQ people through education, advocacy, and celebration. This event brings more than 20,000 people to Downtown Santa Ana.
Heritage Museum of Orange County
The Heritage Museum hosts a summer enrichment program serving middle and high school students from Santa Ana Unified School District. The program educates students about communities of color in Santa Ana including the diverse history and culture.
Hispanic 100 Foundation Youth and Government
The Youth and Government program empowers and encourages students in the Santa Ana community. Through the program, students develop public speaking skills, critical thinking, and increase their own intelligence.
Cesar Chavez Day with Dolores C Huerta Foundation
Cesar Chavez Day was celebrated in Santa Ana with a school assembly at Santa Ana High School.
Crime Survivors Resource Center 5k Run
The Superhero 5k Run/Walk hosts a Health and Safety Expo displaying vendors, resources, entertainment, and family activities. This event promotes awareness, prevention, advocacy, and healing.
American Youth Soccer Organization's 2019 AYSO National Games
As the only team and division representing Santa Ana, AYSO 517 competed in the 2019 AYSO National Games in Hawaii.
2019 Women's March with Planned Parenthood of Orange County
On January 19th, diverse communities demonstrated unity and solidarity while marching together for women's rights in Santa Ana.
