Free Bicycle Maintenance and Safety Classes

Join Santa Ana Active Streets (SAAS) and The Bicycle Tree every Tuesday, starting June 15th through August 2, 2021 in a free, eight-week program, where participants learn about bicycle anatomy, bike safety, and maintenance.  Each person selects a used bike to repair using the skills they learn in the class.  At the end of the program participants will receive a free helmet, lock, and lights to go with your newly fixed bike. Must attend all classes.

These classes will be held in person, in the City of Santa Ana. Specific location is yet to be determined. There is limited capacity, so please register today! Register at https://bit.ly/2RdG1Th 

There are two cohorts, dates June 15th through August 3rd: 

Cohort 1: Ages 13-18, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., all genders 

Cohort 2: Ages 18+, 4 to 6 p.m., specific to Female, Femme, Trans identified folks

Santa Ana Active Streets is contracted by the City’s Public Works Traffic Engineering Division to host education and interactive events around traffic safety.  Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
