City of Santa Ana Allows Restaurants, Retailers to Expand Outdoor Operations
On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Santa Ana City Council unanimously proclaimed a local emergency to fight the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and protect the public. All City of Santa Ana municipal government buildings are temporarily closed to the public, including City Hall. The City urges everyone to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing when in public.

The City of Santa Ana has closed municipal buildings, including City Hall, park amenities, libraries and community centers, in order to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City has taken additional measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to provide financial protections for the community.
Due to Governor Gavin Newsom's Executive Order and the City Council's Proclamation of Local Emergency, we can no longer offer an in-person meeting location for the community to attend public meetings.

Santa Ana and Garden Grove began a partnership with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to provide greater mobility and transportation choices to the residents of both cities.
On November 1, 2018, and for the first time in over 30 years, Chief David Valentin conducted a Department-wide uniformed inspection of our men and women who proudly wear the Santa Ana Police Department uniform.
