The Fixed Guideway Technology Options
A transit planning team is currently evaluating several transportation technologies for the Santa Ana Garden Grove Fixed Guideway Project. Feedback received during the public scoping period will help determine which of the technology alternatives will move forward for further study. They will include:
- No Build Alternative (what happens if the project is not built)
- TSM/TDM Alternative (what can be achieved with low level investments such as traffic signal synchronization)
- Bus Alternatives (such as a traditional bus, trolley bus and bus rapid transit - a bus system that has more frequent service and fewer stops)
- Rail Alternatives (such as a modern street car or a light rail transit system)
