The Community Preservation Division of the Planning and Building Agency enforces the removal of graffiti
from private property and personal property.
Staff conducts proactive graffiti enforcement citywide and addresses graffiti concerns reported by other agencies or residents via the Graffiti Hotline – 1 (877) STOPTAG, 1 (877) 786-7824.
Courtesy Notices are given to property owners and/or businesses asking for their cooperation in removing graffiti from their premises. When property owners are unwilling or uncooperative, staff issues an Administrative Citation affording the property owners up to seven (7) days to comply. After due process measures have been exhausted, criminal complaints may be filed against unwilling or uncooperative property owners and/or businesses.
Staff conducts presentations to raise awareness of graffiti, focusing on the development of partnerships with business associations, schools, parent/teacher associations, and neighborhoods to promote eradication of this urban blight from our City.
