The Santa Ana Historic Resources Commission was established to recognize and preserve historic structures important to the heritage of the City. In addition to the creation of the Commission, the City Council also created a list of historically significant properties called the "Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties".
When a property is placed on the state or local historic register, the owners may be eligible for a variety of incentives. Any improvements or alterations to the exterior of the property must meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation and will require Historic Resources Commission review for major alterations. Please contact the Planning Division for more detailed information regarding alterations to your historic structure at (714) 667-2700.
