Senior Programs

Santa Ana Senior Center

424 W. 3rd St., (714) 647-6540

Southwest Senior Center

2201 W. McFadden Avenue,

The senior centers enhance the quality of life for seniors by providing various services, programs, and activities that encourage independence.  They also serve as referral and information centers that host health fairs and employment workshops.  As people age and retire, they undergo important lifestyle changes.  By keeping in touch with the community, bonding with peers, receiving recognition, and engaging in meaningful activities in a place where age is honored, seniors are able to maintain their dignity and enjoy a balanced lifestyle – physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The Santa Ana and Southwest senior centers provide seniors with activities that they both need and enjoy: arts and crafts, dances, holiday celebrations, excursions, nutritious meals, advocacy fairs, bingo games, birthday celebrations, and more.  In addition, the Aquatics Program offers a variety of aquatic classes for seniors, and other leisure classes are also available.  The City of Santa Ana senior centers need volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of Santa Ana’s senior citizens.  Volunteer duties include: general courtesy and office support, decorating the centers, and helping prepare gifts for holidays, among other options.  For more information about services or volunteering, please contact the individual senior center.  Some services offered at the senior centers are:

  • Ballroom Dancing
  • Mammograms
  • Computer Classes
  • Physical Fitness

  • ESL-1 and ESL-3
  • Preventive Health Care
  • Hicap: (health insurance counseling program)
  • Services for Homebound Seniors

  • Wellness Mobile Unit
