The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is the only zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in Orange County and features a unique collection of Neotropical animals from Central and South America.

The zoo’s animal collection of more than 250 animals is notable for its diversity of monkeys and tropical birds but also features rare domestic breeds in the 2-acre Crean Family Farm.

It is conveniently located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave. in Santa Ana adjacent to the Interstate 5 freeway, and is very affordable: $8.00 for adults; $5.00 for children 3 to 12, and seniors; and free for children under 3.

The zoo’s lushly landscaped 20 acres are a quiet urban oasis especially suited for families with small children. The zoo also offers a wide range of education programs, special events, birthday party facilities, full food service, gift shop, a playground, a new carrousel featuring endangered animals, and the Zoofari Express train ride.The zoo opens daily at 10:00 a.m. with the entrance closing at 4:00 p.m.
