Beyond the Basics: Cooking and Baking for Teens

Location: Central, Jerome and Newhope (continuing during the fall, 2016)

Focus on teaching teens how to plan and shop for healthy diet on a budget, read nutrition labels, prepare food, use kitchen appliances, cook a balanced meal, store food and do a proper kitchen clean-up, clean an oven, clean out the refrigerator. Another component is the Baking portion in which builds on the basic skill and adds an intermediate level cooking to teach teens more complex techniques and with an added focus on baking.
