Fire reserves are not city employees.  They work on a voluntary basis to gain experience which will aid them in getting a full-time job with a Fire Department.  Fire reserves perform the duties of their position effectively and efficiently in accordance to department policies, practices, and procedures.  Fire Reserves respond to alarms with their respective company.  Fire Reserves perform such duties as directed by their superior officer.  Firefighters when assigned other than fire suppression, judiciously perform duties as directed.
