Fire Reserves are not city employees.  They are required to work two shifts (24 hours each) a month and to attend a montly meeting to gain both formal and informal experience to aid them in gaining full-time employment with a Fire Department.

Reserve Firefighter Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Perform all aspects of firefighting from extinguishment, to rescue, salvage, and overhaul
• Provide first aid and assist with patient care
• Perform fire inspections and public education
• Perform duties as directed by a superior officer
