Emergency Solutions Grant

Each year, the City of Santa Ana receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for homeless assistance under the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The ESG program assists in the prevention of homelessness and to enable homeless individuals and families to move toward independent living.

ESG funds are used by non-profit homeless service providers for activities such as:

  • Data Collection
  • Homelessness Prevention
  • Rapid Re-housing
  • Emergency Shelter
  • Street Outreach

The following organizations have been awarded ESG funding for fiscal year 2018-2019:

  • Illumination Foundation (Street Outreach, Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing) - $147,152
  • CityNet (Street Outreach and Engagement) - $46,127
  • Mercy House Living Centers (Shelter, Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing) - $117,736
  • WisePlace (Shelter) - $24,973
  • SAPD - HEART Program (Street Outreach and Engagement) - $47,627
  • 211 Orange County (Data) - $14,273
