Save the Date - 12th Annual Celebrate Santa Ana - Thursday, May 8, 2008 - 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers - Santa Ana City Hall. This free event features everything you've come to expect and more, including the presentation of the 2008 Neighborhood Hero Award and Community Building Awards. There will also be a Community Building Expo, networking opportunities and roundtable discussions focusing on school - business partnerships in Santa Ana. Event co-sponsors include: The Santa Ana Unified School District, Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce and Santa Ana Education Foundation, the City of Santa Ana and the Santa Ana Resource Network. Hot hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served and parking will be validated. Please call 714.667.2260 to RSVP by May 1, 2008. The Community Development Resource Network has become an extremely positive factor contributing to recent successes achieved in Santa Ana. The Steering Committee, made up of over 25 key agencies and organizations, has been the backbone to our efforts. Please be sure to network and discuss projects with these individuals (who will have a special blue ribbon name badge) or their organization representatives at this year’s event. It will be an excellent opportunity for you to get on board towards contributing to the bright future of Santa Ana. The Network’s successes include the following: an Internet based Community Calendar of events and free quarterly newsletter, development and initial funding of over 80 community based projects for the Grants for Blocks Program, Successful Empowerment Zone Application, and facilitating relationships between corporate sponsors and Santa Ana organizations.
