Background and Experience
Ms.
Coleman joined the
Santa Ana City Attorney's
Office in 1999. Since 2001, she has served as the legal advisor to the Santa Ana Police Department. She provides legal assistance on such issues as training, civil liability, Public Records Act requests and handles numerous appellate matters involving the Police Department. Prior to joining the City, she was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Bernardino where she was involved in numerous police projects, including gang injunctions and nuisance abatements. She was in
private practice
as a criminal defense attorney
prior to working in San
Bernardino.

Court for the Central,
Southern and Eastern
Districts as well
as the Ninth District
Court of Appeal. Ms. Coleman
is a member of the

Coleman received
her Juris Doctor from
Western State University
College of Law in 1993,
and her Bachelor
of Science in Biological
Science from the
University of California,
