City Place

Live.  Work.  Shop.  Play.  You’ll be able to do it all at City Place.  Constructed by Bisno Development, this 18-acre mixed-use project located across the street from Santa Ana’s Main Place Mall, includes 242 live/work townhomes, and 60,000 square feet of restaurants and retail space.  City Place has signed leases with McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and Geisha House.  There are also plans for a 33-story residential tower, which includes a proposal for 350 units for sale (under review). For more information please visit: www.livecityplace.com

Santiago Street Lofts

Olson Lofts

Through a public/private partnership, the Santa Ana Redevelopment Agency and The Olson Company constructed 70 award-winning live/work lofts in the heart of Santa Ana's Artists Village,  These "for-sale" condominium lofts quickly sold out because of their desirable design characterized by high ceilings, exposed structural elements, and hardwood floors.  The lofts were constructed in two phases and included the East Village and the Main Street Lofts, each with different architecture and floor plans - as a result of a design competition.  The lofts range in size from 1,400 square feet to 2,700 square feet.  The Agency is currently reviewing Olson Company's plans for the final phase - Sycamore Street Lofts.

Bowers Museum Expansion

1st and Cabrillo Towers

A 6-acre mixed-use project, which will contain 320 units within 3 buildings.  193 of the units will be housed within a 24-story tower, while the remaining units will be housed in 2 mid-rise buildings.  There will be approximately 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

Santa Ana Residential Village

An 8-acre mixed-use project housing 423 residential units with 3 to 8 story live/work townhomes and flats.  It will also be the home to 150 condominium units within a 24-story high-rise tower.  Units will range from 700 to 2,000 square feet.  Among the housing there will be 8,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

MainPlace

One of Orange County's premier shopping malls, MainPlace features top department stores, dining and a comfortable shopping environment.  This 1.1 million square foot mall, purchased by Westfield, will be undergoing another major expansion and renovation to capitalize on the mall's excellent location at the intersection of the 5, 22, and 55 freeways.  Major retailer, J.C. Santa Ana Auto Mall

Expansion of the Santa Ana Auto Mall is well underway.  The Community Redevelopment Agency embarked on this business retention and expansion effort to generate new jobs and revenues for the community.  There are currently 12 new car dealer ships in the mall generating close to $4 million in annual sales tax revenue for the General Fund.  Expansion of Crevier BMW will consist of over 170,000 square feet of service, sales and office space and a six tier parking structure.  Crevier's phase I parking structure has been completed and construction of phase II has commenced and will include a new showroom and additional service area.  Honda's expansion is in the planning stages.  Renovations to the auto mall's interior including new signage and landscaping are underway.  In addition to enhancing the viability of these dealerships, it is anticipated that the increase in the volume of automobile sales resulting from this project will generate an additional $750,000 in annual sales tax revenue for the general fund.

Bristol Street Widening

A major street improvement expanding Bristol Street to 6 lanes has completed its first phase between McFadden and Edinger Avenues.  The City was recently successful in obtaining annual funding of approximately $24 million from OCTA to proceed with further widening.  Phase I will span McFadden to Pine, Phase II will span Pine to Civic Center, Phase III will span Civic Center to 17th Street, and Phase IV will span Warner Street to St. Andrew.

Renaissance Specific Plan

Over the next 6-8 months, the City will be reviewing the draft of a Specific Plan for the central area encompassing over 420 acres including the train station, the downtown, the Civic Center, the Santa Ana Boulevard Corridor, and the Logan and Lacy neighborhoods.  The purpose of the Renaissance Specific Plan is to create a land use plan that builds upon the exisiting dynamic urban environment, which already exists throughout much of the study area, while at the same time ensuring that future development continues to enhance the area's strengths.  Policies concerning items such as traffic impacts, open space, parking, preservation of neighborhoods, creating connections to the train depot and Civic Center, and planning for the re-use of vacant land and buildings are just some of the items that will be addressed.  To view the Renaissance Specific Plan click here.
